In 1999 Decoy Dancer was founded by avid waterfowl hunter Kevin McMahan in SW Washington. Kevin and his hunting partners weren’t satisfied with the lack of motion available in decoys at the time. While technology had greatly improved in many areas of waterfowling (blinds, calls, guns, etc.) decoy movement was very much overlooked and un-available.The idea behind Decoy Dancer came about out of the increasing frustration we have all experienced of birds who won’t decoy from a lack of lifelike motion in the spread. Dozens of ideas, proto-types and finished products later Decoy Dancer was born as a company dedicated to creating life like motion for waterfowl hunters in all weather conditions. The extreme attention to detail and listening to the feedback from fellow hunters and customers from across the country is exactly what Decoy Dancer is about and we will never stop listening to our customers!In 2012 Eric and Heather Strand purchased Decoy Dancer from the McMahan’s and currently own and operate the business in Scappoose, OR . Steady growth and the creation of several new decoys and motion systems keeps Decoy Dancer growing and to this day each and every decoy is built and tested one at a time to ensure every product is “Hunt Ready” and “Hand made by Hunters”. “All of our products and all of the businesses who machine our parts are in the U.S.A. with the majority of our parts built right here in the NW.
